Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats deck focuses on transforming Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER into Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel by forcing simultaneous creature deaths. By casting symmetrical sacrifice creatures like Fleshbag Marauder into a full four-player pod, the deck easily hits the four-death threshold in a single turn. This creates an emblem called Super Nova that permanently drains life whenever any creature dies. The back face of Sephiroth provides an evasive 5/5 flying threat that converts expendable tokens and recurring creatures into massive card draw upon attacking. A dense suite of reanimation spells, aristocrat payoffs like Blood Artist and Bastion of Remembrance, and mana engines like Warren Soultrader and Bolas's Citadel ensure continuous pressure. While the deck dominates creature-heavy matchups through asymmetric attrition, it relies on closing games via incremental life drain and large finishers like Exsanguinate.
