Ashcoat, Rat Fury by user9256742

Format: Commander

Commander: Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm leads a mono-black Rat tribal deck that floods the board with cheap Rats and token makers, then converts that mass into lethal combat damage through Ashcoat's pump, Marrow-Gnawer's explosive token production, and a stocked graveyard. The primary plan is a wide Rat swarm with Ashcoat as both lord and recursion engine; secondary paths include Valley Rotcaller draining every opponent, Ayara and Bontu's Monument chipping life, and Crypt Rats as an X-spell. There is no true hidden commander, though Marrow-Gnawer, Lord Skitter, and Karumonix serve as powerful lieutenants. The deck grinds card advantage through Skullclamp, Bolas's Citadel, and Ashcoat's end-step milling.
