Deck overview

This Golgari deck centers on Shelob, Child of Ungoliant to turn Spider tribal synergies into a board-control engine. By giving all Spiders deathtouch and ward {2}, the deck transforms fight and bite spells like Tail Swipe and Bite Down into one-sided creature removal that also steals opposing threats as Food artifacts. Dense 2-mana ramp consistently deploys Shelob on Turn 5. Token generators such as Arasta of the Endless Web, Spider Spawning, and Izoni, Center of the Web build a wide defensive board that deters ground and air attacks. The deck finishes games through overrun effects like Night of the Sweets' Revenge and Return of the Wildspeaker, or by draining opponents directly with Ishkanah, Grafwidow and Rotwidow Pack. While resilient against single-target spells due to ward, the deck lacks countermagic and depends on Heroic Intervention to survive board wipes.
