Deck overview

This deck is a Selesnya Hydra tribal stompy strategy commanded by Polukranos Reborn // Polukranos, Engine of Ruin. The primary game plan develops mana across the first four turns, deploys large X-spell Hydras, and transforms Polukranos into a formidable 6/6 reach and lifelink engine that replaces dying nontoken Hydras with pairs of 3/3 Phyrexian Hydra tokens. Powerful synergy pieces like Doubling Season, Anointed Procession, Kalonian Hydra, and Aura Shards amplify counter growth, multiply token generation, and systematically dismantle opposing artifact and enchantment mana bases. The deck creates a critical must-answer board presence around Turn 6, leveraging high-power trample damage and resilient death triggers to overwhelm opposing life totals by Turn 8. While vulnerable to early aggro and exile board wipes due to a lack of stack counterspells, the deck excels at sustained mid-game attrition and dominant creature combat.
