Smaug, Glittering Dragons by masonan76

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Rakdos treasure-combo deck built around Smaug the Impenetrable as an indestructible damage sponge: every noncombat point of damage dealt to him is converted into a Treasure. The primary plan is to ramp into Smaug, attach a repeatable damage source such as Pyrohemia, Pestilence, or Chain Lightning, and use Goldspan Dragon, Xorn, and Alchemist's Talent to multiply the resulting Treasures into mana and table damage. Burn payoffs (Mirkwood Bats, Reckless Fireweaver, Weftstalker Ardent) and X-spells close the game. Smaug the Magnificent acts as a hidden secondary Dragon, while Magda, Goblin Engineer, and Beseech the Mirror find the key pieces.
