Deck overview

This Sultai deck pairs the indestructible commander Kotis, the Fangkeeper with the mutate mechanic and unblockable combat enablers. Because Kotis is a non-Human creature with built-in indestructibility, any creature mutated over or under it creates a resilient, high-power attacker that retains indestructibility. When Kotis connects in combat, it exiles cards from the defending player's library equal to the damage dealt and casts any number of spells with mana value less than or equal to that damage for free. Supported by efficient 1-to-2-mana ramp, the deck routinely deploys Kotis on turn 3, mutates a massive creature like Brokkos, Apex of Forever or Auspicious Starrix on turns 4 to 5, and snowballs massive card and mana advantage by stealing opponents' spells while delivering lethal commander damage across three response cycles.
