Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is commanded by Sorin of House Markov, focusing on weaponizing life gain into board control, card advantage, and lethal direct life drain. During the early turns, the deck deploys low-cost lifegain engines and tax pieces such as Authority of the Consuls and Blind Obedience to comfortably flip Sorin into Sorin, Ravenous Neonate. It generates steady card flow through synergistic engines like The Gaffer and Phyrexian Arena while keeping opposing boards in check with premier spot removal and sweepers like Toxic Deluge and Merciless Eviction. The endgame culminates in devastating life-drain bursts via Bolas's Citadel, Aetherflux Reservoir, or the deterministic infinite loop of Exquisite Blood paired with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Sanguine Bond, eliminating all opponents in a single turn.
