This Simic deck is a typal aggro and +1/+1 counters strategy commanded by Hakbal of the Surging Soul. The game plan curves out on early turns with low-mana Merfolk and ramp, deploying Hakbal on Turn 4 to immediately trigger team-wide explore at combat. Explore triggers smooth land drops, draw extra lands into hand, filter draws, and grow creatures with +1/+1 counters. Hakbal's attack triggers further accelerate mana by putting lands directly onto the battlefield or drawing cards.
