To be a Pest by berbz

Format: Commander

Commander: Witherbloom, the Balancer

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Witherbloom is a Golgari token-and-life-gain deck that uses Saprolings and Pests as both the battlefield and a huge mana discount. Witherbloom, the Balancer gives affinity for creatures to itself and every instant/sorcery, so early wide boards make the commander and later spells nearly free. The main path is to flood with Saproling Migration, Undercellar Myconid, and Essenceknit Scholar, then convert the swarm through Shroofus Sproutsire and Overcome. Secondary drains come from Witherbloom Apprentice, Black Mage's Rod, Cauldron of Essence, and Professor Dellian's emblem. Fungal Plots and Moldervine Reclamation turn deaths into cards and life. Grist is a strong side engine, but no card acts as a true hidden commander.
