Deck overview

This Mardu deck utilizes Edgar Markov to spearhead an aggressive, go-wide Vampire tribal and aristocrat strategy. Edgar's eminence ability generates a 1/1 black Vampire token whenever any Vampire spell is cast, creating rapid board presence in the early turns without requiring the commander on the battlefield. The deck transitions into a lethal threat by stacking tribal anthems such as Stromkirk Captain, Legion Lieutenant, and Cathars' Crusade, culminating in casting Edgar Markov to rapidly inflate the board with +1/+1 counters on combat. Aristocrat payoffs including Blood Artist and Vraan, Executioner Thane turn combat trades and board attrition into direct life drain, while an infinite drain loop between Bloodthirsty Conqueror and Sanguine Bond or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose provides an alternate win condition. The list is supported by strong spot removal and asymmetric board wipes, though it faces tempo friction from taplands and vulnerability to mass sweepers.
