Commander: Kalain, Reclusive Painter

Deck overview

This is a Black-Red Treasure deck that turns artifacts into universal damage. The primary plan is to generate Treasure tokens and other artifacts repeatedly, then convert every token's entry, sacrifice, or death into life loss through payoffs like Reckless Fireweaver, Mayhem Devil, and Mirkwood Bats. Kalain's role is to provide early Treasures and buff creatures cast with Treasure mana, while Grim Hireling and Mahadi supply mid-game token floods. Secondary paths: use Brass's Bounty or Inspired Tinkering for a burst of artifacts, then Monumental Corruption or Chandra, Flameshaper as a finish. The deck has no true hidden commander, though The Rise of Sozin offers a slow graveyard-value transformation.
