Deck overview

This Izzet spellslinger deck uses Zaffai, Thunder Conductor to generate incremental board presence and card selection before closing the game with explosive big-mana turns. The early game focuses on deploying cost reducers and mana rocks such as Stormcatch Mentor, Ruby Medallion, and Sapphire Medallion. Once Zaffai and draw engines like Archmage Emeritus or Matoya, Archon Elder enter the battlefield, casting 5-CMC and 10-CMC spells generates a steady stream of 4/4 Elemental tokens, scry triggers, and burst damage. The deck transitions into a lethal threat around Turn 6 by utilizing high-yield rituals like Mana Geyser and Jeska's Will to fuel game-ending copy loops. With infinite mana from Reiterate or instant-speed token loops with Dualcaster Mage and Sublime Epiphany, the deck cleanly eliminates all three opponents in a single decisive turn while defending its stack interactions with a versatile suite of countermagic.
