Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black Zombie tribal and aristocrat strategy commanded by Ghoulcaller Gisa. The primary plan develops an early board of resilient Zombie creatures and cost reducers before casting Gisa on Turn 4 or 5. Gisa then converts high-power creatures into massive armies of 2/2 Zombie tokens, multiplying power across the board. Tribal lords such as Undead Warchief, Death Baron, and Lord of the Accursed grant these tokens increased power, menace, and deathtouch to overwhelm opponents in combat. In tandem, aristocrat payoffs like Ayara, First of Locthwain, Vengeful Dead, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel punish creature deaths and entries with heavy life drain. The deck boasts outstanding card draw through engines like Cryptbreaker, Undead Augur, and Skullclamp, ensuring a steady supply of gas and recursion. While vulnerable to early spot removal on Gisa before she can tap, strong graveyard recursion and independent swarm lines allow the deck to pivot smoothly and close games by Turn 8.
