Deck overview

This Boros deck executes an aggressive Dwarf tribal strategy centered around Equipment and historic permanent synergies. Led by Thorin Oakenshield, the deck rapidly achieves an enduring story by fielding three or more historic permanents—artifacts, legendaries, or Sagas—granting built-in ward protection across its entire board. The early turns focus on establishing efficient mana development, low-cost Dwarves, and Equipment tokens. By the mid-game, lords such as Bruenor Battlehammer, Reyav, Master Smith, and Dáin Ironfoot grant double strike, massive power boosts, and free equip activations. Damage multipliers like Collective Inferno and explosive finishers like Balin, Loremaster or Thorin, Mountain-king turn modest boards into lethal combat steps. Defensive instants including Flare of Fortitude and Faith's Reward protect against opposing board wipes, while hate pieces like Spirit of the Labyrinth and Aven Mindcensor hinder faster combo strategies.
