Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Black Voltron strategy piloted by Whiplash, Vengeful Engineer. Whiplash's extremely low mana cost ({B}) allows him to enter the battlefield on Turn 1 and begin attacking with Equipment by Turn 2 or 3. His triggered ability turns standard combat swings into symmetric life drain against all three opponents simultaneously, converting typical single-target Voltron aggression into table-wide pressure. The 99 is heavily saturated with cheap utility Equipment, living weapons, and Job Select cards that provide immediate bodies. Scaling equipment such as Lashwrithe, Nettlecyst, and Bloodforged Battle-Axe allow Whiplash to rapidly establish lethal commander damage thresholds by Turn 5. The deck supports this aggressive core with hyper-efficient black removal spells and several protective Equipment pieces. However, as a combat-centric Voltron deck lacking stack interaction or artifact removal, it remains vulnerable to sweepers and requires multiple turn cycles to close the game.
