Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is commanded by Liesa, Shroud of Dusk, using lifegain engines, taxing stax pieces, and compact infinite combos to control and close games. Liesa bypasses traditional commander tax by paying 2 life per cast while taxing every player 2 life per spell. The deck uses this asymmetric life advantage to fuel powerhouse draw engines like Necropotence, Bolas's Citadel, and The One Ring. Acceleration from rocks and tutors rapidly sets up lethal two-card combinations, most prominently Heliod, Sun-Crowned plus Walking Ballista and Exquisite Blood with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Sanguine Bond. Punisher permanents such as Opposition Agent, Dauthi Voidwalker, Kambal, Consul of Allocation, and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse suppress opposing development. The deck defends its win attempts with Grand Abolisher, Ranger-Captain of Eos, and Teferi's Protection, making it a resilient and highly lethal threat across all phases of the game.
