Deck overview

This deck is a high-power mono-blue artifact midrange strategy commanded by Urza, Lord High Artificer. Urza serves as both a premier mana engine and a potent card sink. By turning every artifact on the battlefield—including summoning-sick Construct tokens, Map tokens, and utility rocks—into blue mana sources, the deck generates huge resource advantages ahead of curve. The primary game plan focuses on deploying Urza on Turn 3 or 4, rapidly scaling massive Karn-struct tokens alongside Simulacrum Synthesizer and Urza's Saga, and casting game-ending artifact threats. Top-end permanents such as Portal to Phyrexia, Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant, and Blightsteel Colossus create crushing board disparity. When mana reaches critical mass, Urza's five-mana activated ability cheats spells directly from the library without depleting cards in hand. A tight suite of cheap countermagic, phasing spells, and Spellskite protects key pieces, while recursive lands ensure steady recovery against board wipes.
