Deck overview

This Dimir deck is built around Runo Stromkirk // Krothuss, Lord of the Deep, combining graveyard reanimation, topdeck manipulation, and high-impact Sea Monsters and Eldrazi. The core game plan establishes early mana acceleration and card filtering to place high-mana threats into the graveyard or on top of the library. Casting Runo on curve enables an upkeep transformation into Krothuss, Lord of the Deep on turn 4. Once transformed, Krothuss attacks alongside massive creatures such as Spawning Kraken, Hullbreaker Horror, or Void Winnower, triggering its ability to create two attacking token copies of Sea Monsters or one copy of other behemoths. This sudden surge in power overwhelms the table within a single combat step and sets up a turn 6 lethal finish. Backed by free counterspells like Fierce Guardianship, asymmetric board wipes like Whelming Wave, and backup cheat engines like Show and Tell and Reanimate, the deck maintains consistent pressure even if its commander faces disruption.
