Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Amass midrange strategy commanded by Sauron, the Dark Lord. The primary game plan revolves around building tall Army tokens through dense creature and spell-based Amass triggers, then converting combat connections into massive card advantage via the Ring Temptation mechanic. Sauron provides both an imposing 7/6 body protected by a punishing legendary sacrifice Ward cost and a passive army-growth engine whenever opponents cast spells. Evasion enablers like Gleaming Overseer, Eternal Skylord, and Corsairs of Umbar ensure the Army breaks through blockers to trigger Sauron's discard-and-draw ability, refilling the hand with four fresh cards every attack. Incremental burn from cards such as The Great Goblin, Psychosis Crawler, and All Will Be One accelerates table-wide damage. While the deck boasts immense grinding power once established, it features a slow mana curve and relies heavily on reaching six mana without dense fast-mana acceleration.
