Deck overview

This deck is a Naya combat control and stax list helmed by Marisi, Breaker of the Coil. The primary game plan accelerates into early evasive threats, notably shadow creatures like Soltari Foot Soldier and Soltari Trooper, to reliably deal combat damage on Turn 4. Connecting with combat damage triggers Marisi's ability to goad each damaged opponent's entire creature base while silencing opposing spellcasting throughout every combat step. Supported by forced-combat enchantments like War's Toll and defensive taxing pieces such as Ghostly Prison and Windborn Muse, the deck channels opposing armies into mutual destruction while leaving your life total untouched. As opponents grind down each other's life totals and blocker counts across two response cycles, the deck transitions into a decisive finish via overrun effects like Beastmaster Ascension, Akroma's Will, and Blade Historian. Robust instant-speed protection like Flawless Maneuver and Heroic Intervention shields your board from sweepers, ensuring sustained table control until the final swing.
