Deck overview

This Abzan deck uses Felothar, Dawn of the Abzan to lead an aggressive go-wide strategy centered on +1/+1 counters and token generation. In the opening turns, cheap mana acceleration and resilient token makers lay a wide foundation. Once Felothar enters the battlefield, attacking allows you to sacrifice excess nonland permanents to distribute +1/+1 counters across your entire creature base. Counter doublers like Branching Evolution and Corpsejack Menace rapidly inflate your army into lethal threats, while lords such as Abzan Falconer, Duskshell Crawler, and Champion of Lambholt provide mass evasion to bypass blockers. Card draw engines reward counter placement and combat connections to maintain high velocity. The deck also includes a compact two-card infinite combo with Cathars' Crusade and Scurry Oak to generate an arbitrarily large army, backed by flexible single-target exile spells, protection instants, and the one-sided sweeper Damning Verdict.
