Deck overview

This deck is a dedicated Selesnya toughness-matters combat engine led by Tadeas, Juniper Ascendant. The strategy relies on deploying low-cost, high-toughness creatures with reach, such as Deadly Recluse and Juvenile Gloomwidow. Tadeas turns these defenders into potent attackers by granting pseudo-vigilance, preventing larger creatures from blocking them, and drawing cards whenever they deal combat damage. Static effects like Assault Formation, Huatli, the Sun's Heart, and Baldin, Century Herdmaster let creatures assign combat damage equal to their toughness rather than their power. Massive instant-speed toughness boosts like Tower Defense and Bar the Door convert modest boards into lethal combat swings. The deck uses asymmetric tools such as Dusk // Dawn and Noetic Scales to break parity against opponent boards while keeping its own low-power attackers safe.
