Commander: Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls leads a slow, grindy Rakdos Demon deck that converts every opponent's life loss into cards and +1/+1 counters. The primary plan is to punish life payments and passive upkeep damage with Seizan, Underworld Dreams, Sulfuric Vortex, and Havoc Festival, then ride evasive Demons to drain opponents. The strongest finish is Liliana's Contract with four named Demons; combat with a pumped Valgavoth and a swarm of 5/6 flying Demons is the backup. Rakdos, the Showstopper and Rakdos, Lord of Riots provide extra angles; neither is a hidden commander, as Valgavoth is the intended engine. There is no infinite combo; the deck wins through incremental life loss, a wide Demon board, and the Contract trigger.
