Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx tribal and midrange reanimator deck commanded by The Ur-Sphinx. The commander provides a constant eminence cost reduction from the command zone, allowing the deck to accelerate its curve without needing early commander deployment. The primary engine relies on deploying tribal cost reducers such as Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign and Urza's Incubator, supported by 8 copies of Sphinx's Approach for steady card flow and direct-to-battlefield creature tutoring. Once established on Turn 4, the deck chains massive flying threats like Sphinx of the Second Sun, Magister Sphinx, and Consecrated Sphinx, or reanimates devastating permanents such as Portal to Phyrexia. It closes out games on Turn 7 through overwhelming combat damage and stolen spells from The Ur-Sphinx attack triggers, backed by a world-class suite of countermagic, removal, and phase protection.
