Deck overview

This mono-black midrange deck is led by Alpharael, Stonechosen, focusing on maximizing the Void mechanic through low-cost sacrifice fodder and Warp cards. By consistently removing its own nonland permanents or warping spells, the deck triggers Alpharael's attack ability to halve opposing life totals in large chunks. Early turns establish mana and utility permanents like Nutrient Block and Umbral Collar Zealot, leading into a Turn 5 commander cast and Turn 6 combat onset. Mid-game turns leverage attrition engines such as Braids, Arisen Nightmare and Sothera, the Supervoid alongside heavy Spacecraft beaters to clear boards and close out remaining life totals. While the deck possesses resilient late-game mana scaling via Cabal Coffers and persistent graveyard hate from The Darkness Crystal, its clock is inherently paced by single-target combat steps and vulnerability to creature sweepers.
