Volo, Guide to Monsters by Lord-Salas

Format: Commander

Commander: Volo, Guide to Monsters

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Drafted around Volo, Guide to Monsters, this UG creature toolbox deck plays a unique-type creature chain: ramp into Volo, double every value ETB, draw into one of several massive overrun threats, then end the game with doubled Thunderfoot Baloth or End-Raze Forerunners. It is a board-attrition/beats deck rather than a combo deck. Radagast the Brown acts as a secondary card-advantage engine and possible pseudo-commander, while Hornet Queen and Stormtide Leviathan provide fallback board control. The plan is single-minded but consistent: establish Volo, keep creature types unique, convert copied ETBs into mana, cards, and ultimately an alpha strike.
