Deck overview

This deck is a Naya forced-combat and goad midrange strategy commanded by Marisi, Breaker of the Coil. Its primary game plan is to deploy cheap, evasive attackers—specifically creatures with shadow like Soltari Foot Soldier and Soltari Trooper—before casting Marisi on Turn 4. Connecting with combat damage goads opponents' boards and silences their spellcasting during combat, effectively turning opponents against one another while shielding your own life total and planeswalkers from attacks. Accelerators like Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos, Slicer, Hired Muscle, and Crescendo of War rapidly multiply table-wide combat damage, causing opponents to deplete each other's life totals and blockers. The deck runs an efficient, flexible removal suite to eliminate critical combo pieces and stax pieces. In the late game, the deck uses unblockable enablers like Bedlam, Taunt from the Rampart, and Rogue's Passage to cleanly eliminate the last remaining opponent.
