Commander: Maralen, Fae Ascendant

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Maralen, Fae Ascendant is an engine commander that turns every Elf/Faerie entry into two-card exile and free-cast acceleration. The primary plan is to land Maralen on turns 3-4, flood the board with cheap flash and token Faeries, and use her once-per-turn free cast to play the best cards from opposing libraries, while the Faerie drain/beatdown core-Obyra, Alela, Tegwyll, and flying anthems-wears down life totals. Secondary paths include Oona's mill-token engine and Defense of the Heart to assemble two big Faeries. The deck is far less explosive without Maralen, and its hidden commander-style payoff is Oona, Queen of the Fae, which can turn accumulated mana into a board of Faerie tokens.
