Baron Helmut Zemo by Veronis

Format: Commander

Commander: Baron Helmut Zemo

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a mono-black sacrifice/aristocrats/reanimator value engine helmed by Baron Helmut Zemo. The commander turns every black spell cast from hand into a connive (draw, discard, and a +1/+1 counter), and his boast - after attacking - exiles black cards from the graveyard with fifteen or more black pips and re-casts up to three of them for free. The deck's plan is to churn through its own creatures for death-trigger value, drain the table incrementally, and then weaponize the graveyard with big recursion spells and repeated Pox Plague-style haymakers off the boast. It wins through attrition: Venerated Stormsinger, South Wind Avatar, Massacre Wurm, and Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER convert every death into life loss, while Rise of the Dark Realms and the commander's boast provide the explosive closing turns.
