Deck overview

Chief of the Wilds leads a Golgari Wolf tribal deck that leans heavily on +1/+1 counters and the doubled-trigger engine provided by the commander. The primary game plan is to build a wide board of Wolves, use ferocious abilities (power 4+) to draw cards, create tokens, and pile on counters, then finish with an overrun effect like Overwhelming Stampede or Finale of Devastation for X=10. The deck includes a solid tutor package to find key pieces such as The Great Henge, Branching Evolution, or a finisher. While the deck lacks instant-speed removal or counterspells, it has a few protection spells and a handful of artifact/enchantment removal options via Changelings. The commander's double-trigger ability supercharges every Wolf's ETB and attack trigger, making it the central engine, but the deck can still function (albeit slower) without it.
