Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Mono-Black Reanimator and Aristocrats strategy designed to rapidly fill the graveyard and cheat massive threats into play ahead of curve. Rather than relying on its eight-mana commander Avacyn, Angel of Horror, the list functions as a self-contained graveyard engine using hyper-efficient enablers like Entomb, Buried Alive, Reanimate, and Animate Dead. Early reanimation targets like Archon of Cruelty and Mindslicer establish immediate board dominance and resource denial. The deck transitions into the midgame with crushing asymmetric attrition via Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, completely suppressing opposing creature boards. Big-mana engines powered by Cabal Coffers, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, and Crypt Ghast fuel game-ending bursts with Living Death, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Kokusho, the Evening Star, or a lethal Torment of Hailfire.
