Deck overview

This Selesnya midrange deck leverages +1/+1 counter synergies, Hydra tribal elements, and token generation to construct overwhelming board states. Commanded by Polukranos Reborn, the deck ramps on early turns into aggressive, resilient threats. Once transformed into Polukranos, Engine of Ruin, the commander provides massive lifelink presence and insures your board against destruction by replacing dying nontoken Hydras with pairs of 3/3 Phyrexian Hydra tokens. The deck compounds power rapidly using multipliers like Branching Evolution, Cathars' Crusade, and Byrke, Long Ear of the Law. It features a versatile removal suite including Swords to Plowshares, Farewell, and Aura Shards, while finishing games through trampling combat damage or an infinite token loop with Basking Broodscale and Cathars' Crusade.
