Deck overview

This is a midrange Abzan lifegain and +1/+1 counters deck helmed by Betor, Ancestor's Voice. The core plan leverages life gain to stack counters on the board (via Betor, Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn, and amplifiers like Hardened Scales and Doubling Season) while converting life loss into targeted reanimation. Aristocrats drains from Dina, Soul Steeper, Cruel Celebrant, and Defiling Daemogoth provide non-combat reach, supported by sacrifice outlets and pest/token generation from Beledros Witherbloom. Primary wins come through oversized combat threats or incremental table drain rather than infinite combos. Betor, Ancestor's Voice is a strong value engine but not mandatory-the 99 contains parallel lifegain payoffs and counter synergies that function independently. The deck plays a grindy, resilient value game that snowballs once life totals start swinging.
