Deck overview

This deck is a Jund lands-matter and sacrifice midrange deck led by Szarel, Genesis Shepherd. It aims to leverage the graveyard as an extension of the hand, constantly sacrificing and recurring lands to generate overwhelming board presence and mana velocity. In the early turns, the deck develops its mana base using land-searching spells like Nature's Lore and Harrow. Once Szarel, Genesis Shepherd enters on Turn 4, every sacrificed nontoken permanent pumps friendly creatures with +1/+1 counters while Szarel allows recurring those lands from the graveyard. Secondary engines such as Titania, Protector of Argoth, The Gitrog Monster, and Scute Swarm convert land churn into massive armies of Elementals and Insects. On Turn 6, the deck reaches critical onset by combining explosive land sacrifices through Zuran Orb or Splendid Reclamation with mass overrun effects like Overwhelming Stampede or Garruk's Uprising to trample over opposing defenses by Turn 7.
