Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Dragon tribal and reanimator strategy helmed by Rivaz of the Claw. Rivaz serves as both a dedicated mana engine and a repeatable recursion outlet, enabling high-cost Dragon threats to enter play early and return from the graveyard after removal. The game plan focuses on deploying early ramp and cost reducers, curving into Rivaz of the Claw on Turn 3, and casting imposing flying threats by Turn 4. On Turn 5, powerhouse finishers such as Utvara Hellkite, Lathliss, Dragon Queen, and Scourge of the Throne flood the board with massive flying tokens and trigger direct damage through Dragon Tempest. The deck defends its board with efficient redirection spells like Deflecting Swat and clears opposing blockers with one-sided sweeps like Crux of Fate. Even if opponents remove key threats, strong recursion cards like Reanimate, Victimize, and Bladewing the Risen maintain rapid pressure.
