Deck overview

This mono-blue combo-control deck leverages a unique engine powered by 28 copies of Sphinx's Approach. The primary game plan uses Eluge, the Shoreless Sea to reduce the cost of instant spells, enabling fast cycling through Approaches. Once five copies of Sphinx's Approach are cast or discarded into the graveyard, their built-in ability exiles them to cheat Sphinx of the Chimes directly onto the battlefield. From there, Sphinx of the Chimes discards pairs of Approaches for zero mana to draw four cards per activation, allowing the pilot to draw their entire library in a single turn. The deck finishes by casting Laboratory Maniac and activating one final draw. Backed by premier free counterspells like Force of Will and Fierce Guardianship, the strategy pairs efficient disruption with a compact, deterministic turn-5 win.
