Deck overview

This mono-black deck combines Aristocrats sacrifice loops with an explosive reanimator package. Commanded by Witch-king of Angmar, the deck discourages incoming attacks while using disposable token generators like Bitterblossom, Ophiomancer, and Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia to fuel draw engines and sacrifice outlets. It excels at controlling opposing creature boards through asymmetric attrition cards like Grave Pact and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician. The primary win condition leverages targeted graveyard dumping via Buried Alive and Entomb into multi-target reanimation with Victimize or Living Death, assembling the infinite life-drain combo of Bloodthirsty Conqueror and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose to eliminate the entire table on Turn 5. Backup paths include scaling Gray Merchant of Asphodel drain triggers and big-mana Torment of Hailfire closers backed by Cabal Coffers.
