Deck overview

Led by Gisa, the Hellraiser, this mono-black deck combines Zombie tribal swarms with crime-driven token generation and aristocrat life drain. The primary plan revolves around resolving Gisa on Turn 4 or 5 and triggering her crime ability every turn using low-cost repeatable artifacts like Glasses of Urza and Codex Shredder, alongside efficient instant-speed removal. Each crime yields two menace-buffed Zombie Rogues, rapidly amassing a wide board presence. By Turn 6, the deck converts this token horde into decisive pressure using anthem lords such as Death Baron, Undead Warchief, and Coat of Arms, or aristocrat drain bombs like Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Ayara, First of Locthwain, and Mirkwood Bats. While the deck features dense creature removal and resilient recursion engines, its lack of stack protection and artifact removal leaves it vulnerable to well-timed board sweepers and artifact-based combo strategies.
