Bard working hard by Boki

Format: Commander

Commander: Bard, King of Dale

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a blue-white token-and-card-draw snowball deck built around Bard, King of Dale. Bard's replacement effects are the entire strategy: every non-first draw becomes two draws, and every token creation becomes double tokens. The 99 leans into those two knobs with "draw your second card" payoffs (Alandra, Sky Dreamer, Mischievous Mystic, Detective of the Month, Homunculus Horde), repeatable token engines (Adeline, Resplendent Cathar, Caretaker's Talent, Oketra's Monument, Visions of Glory, Moogles' Valor), and anthems (Kinbinding, Knowledge Is Power, Gideon, Ally of Zendikar). There are no infinite combos in the list; the deck wins by running the table over with a critical mass of tokens or by draining with Psychosis Crawler when a large draw spell or Midnight Clock goes off under Bard. It is a midrange engine deck that rewards sequencing and protecting its commander.
