Counting on Sagas by Gwim

Format: Commander

Commander: Haliya, Ascendant Cadet

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This Selesnya deck helmed by Haliya, Ascendant Cadet is a midrange +1/+1 counter value engine that wins through incremental combat damage. The commander provides repeatable counter distribution on ETB/attack and draws cards whenever creatures with counters deal combat damage, rewarding a wide board presence. The 99 leans heavily into sagas (which transform into enchantment creatures), landfall triggers, token generation, and a handful of artifact/spacecraft subthemes. The deck aims to outvalue opponents through card draw from Brigone, Soldier of Meletis, Elvish Archivist, Dyadrine, Synthesis Amalgam, and similar effects, then close out games with large trampling creatures or a pumped board via Loading Zone and All That Glitters. No infinite combos are present; victory is achieved purely through combat. The deck lacks consistent tutors, fast mana, and stack interaction, making it a casual, synergistic strategy that relies on its commander s presence for sustained card advantage.
