Deck overview

This mono-black deck employs an attrition-heavy control strategy led by Geth, Lord of the Vault. In the early game, the deck deploys efficient deathtouch blockers such as Typhoid Rats, Hired Poisoner, and Hullcarver to discourage attacks while trading favorably with opposing attackers. Targeted removal spells like Sudden Edict, Tragic Slip, and Murder control key opposing threats, filling enemy graveyards with high-value targets. Once the mana base reaches six to seven Swamps, Geth enters the battlefield as a recurring mana sink that reanimates opposing creatures and artifacts while milling cards to replenish target options. Supported by mid-game threats like Goremand and Armaggon, Future Shark, the deck steadily grinds down opponents through asymmetric combat pressure and life-drain effects. While vulnerable to enchantment-based strategies and artifact removal, the deck excels at creature-heavy board control.
