Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages The Mycotyrant to transform continuous self-mill and permanent sacrifices into an expanding army of Fungus tokens. By running only two basic lands, enablers like Hermit Druid and heavy Dredge cards rapidly stock the graveyard, triggering the commander's descent ability every turn. The deck capitalizes on its full graveyard through reanimation spells, land recursion, and aristocrat drain engines. While it can close out games through life drain from Mirkwood Bats and Marionette Apprentice, its fastest finish involves flashing back Dread Return to put Craterhoof Behemoth into play, converting a wide fungal board into an immediate lethal attack. The deck recovers effortlessly from standard removal by treating the graveyard as a secondary hand, though it remains sensitive to dedicated graveyard exile effects.
