Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius control strategy built around Hylda of the Icy Crown. It converts tapping opponent creatures into overwhelming board presence, card advantage, and board control. By using cheap repeatable tappers, mass freeze effects, and stun counters, the deck continuously triggers Hylda to create 4/4 Elemental tokens, pump the team, or dig through the library. As the token count rises, cards like Opposition and Junk Winder transform individual tap triggers into oppressive soft locks that tap down enemy lands, blockers, and attackers. Supported by an efficient suite of white spot removal, blue countermagic, and asymmetric stax pieces like Lavinia, Azorius Renegade and Narset, Parter of Veils, the deck systematically neutralizes opposing threats while building an unblockable, lethal combat clock. It wins by clearing the way for wide token strikes across turns 6 to 8.
