Deck overview

This Sultai Elf tribal deck is helmed by Thranduil, the Elvenking, whose ability to gain every activated ability of Elf cards in the graveyard turns the yard into a second hand and a mana engine. The deck marries a classic Elfball - a swarm of mana dorks and lords - with a deliberate graveyard subtheme (Entomb, Buried Alive, Ripples of Undeath, Tortured Existence, Reanimate, Bloodline Bidding) that feeds both Thranduil's ability and mass recursion. Primary wins are the Devoted Druid + lord infinite-mana line into Ezuri, Renegade Leader's or Tyvar, the Pummeler's overrun, and a wide combat kill backed by Elvish Champion and Elvish Archdruid. Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord and Lathril, Blade of the Elves offer drain-based alternates. Thranduil's legendary-Elf ETB draw trigger (Dionus, Elvish Archdruid, Marwyn, the Nurturer, Selvala, Heart of the Wilds) keeps the hand full while the board goes wide.
