Deck overview

This mono-black deck is built around Zenos yae Galvus // Shinryu, Transcendent Rival, turning traditional multiplayer Commander dynamics on their head. Rather than needing to eliminate all three opponents through 120 total life or 63 commander damage, the deck's central strategy focuses on transforming Zenos into Shinryu and triggering Burning Chains to win the game as soon as a single chosen opponent loses. The list operates as a control-attrition shell packed with low-cost removal, edicts, and board wipes to guarantee the chosen creature leaves the battlefield on curve. Once Shinryu is active as an 8/8 flyer, the deck accelerates the clock using life-halving cards like Sorin Markov, Tree of Perdition, and Grievous Wound, or lethal combat enhancers like Tainted Strike and Strata Scythe. Robust backup lines like Bolas's Citadel and Rise of the Dark Realms provide resilience against commander hate.
