IZZET Rootha by MrFranki

Format: Commander

Commander: Rootha, Mastering the Moment

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Izzet spellslinger deck is helmed by Rootha, Mastering the Moment, who creates an X/X flying haste Elemental each combat if you've cast an instant or sorcery that turn-providing a steady stream of scalable threats. The deck heavily leverages copy effects (Galvanic Iteration, Dualcaster Mage, Alania, Divergent Storm) to multiply spell casts and token generation. Primary win conditions include assembling an infinite loop with Dualcaster Mage and a token-copy spell (Electroduplicate, Molten Duplication, Cackling Counterpart, or Rite of Replication) to create an arbitrarily large board of hasty Dualcaster Mages, or overwhelming opponents with a wide token army boosted by extra combat steps from Full Throttle. Rootha's ability provides a constant threat, but the deck can function without her via other token engines like Rionya, Fire Dancer and Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer.
