Deck overview

Saruman, the White Hand is the engine and finisher of this Grixis amass deck. Every noncreature spell adds a large pile of +1/+1 counters to a single Army token, and the deck multiplies that growth with Harmonic Prodigy, Wizard's Staff, and Mauhur. The primary plan is to make one enormous Army and close with Chandra's Ignition, All Will Be One burn, or Assault on Osgiliath double-strike attacks. Secondary paths use The One Ring, Black Market Connections, and Rhystic Study to out-draw the table, then convert card advantage into even more amass triggers. Sauron, the Dark Lord is a powerful lieutenant and extra amass source, not a hidden second commander; the build is centered squarely on Saruman's triggered ability.
