Deck overview

This Gruul deck leverages Wyll, Blade of Frontiers paired with the Background Raised by Giants to execute a focused Voltron and dice-rolling beatdown strategy. Wyll enters early and accumulates +1/+1 counters whenever dice are rolled, while Barbarian Class and Wyll's own static ability improve roll consistency. Resolving Raised by Giants elevates Wyll to a 10/10 base creature, instantly turning him into a massive commander damage threat. Card advantage flows from power-based draw spells like Garruk's Uprising and Rishkar's Expertise, alongside artifacts like The One Ring. Heavy hitters such as Ancient Copper Dragon and Ancient Bronze Dragon provide strong secondary offensive lines. While the deck relies on sequential combat steps to close games across multiple turn cycles, robust protection pieces like Deflecting Swat, Heroic Intervention, and Mithril Coat keep the primary threat alive through opposing interaction.
