Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius Voltron Control strategy commanded by Dragonlord Ojutai. The primary objective is to accelerate Ojutai onto the battlefield on Turn 4 and equip or enchant it with vigilance enablers like Ring of Thune, Sentinel's Eyes, or Haunted Cloak. Granting vigilance ensures Ojutai never taps to attack, preserving its built-in hexproof indefinitely while triggering its Anticipate ability on each combat connection to draw gas and countermagic. The deck supports this aggressive clock with potent pillowfort pieces like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda, asymmetric tax effects such as Grand Arbiter Augustin IV and Aura of Silence, and asymmetric sweepers like Winds of Rath and Slash the Ranks that spare enchanted creatures or commanders. While the deck boasts formidable protection and high interactive resilience, its win condition relies on sequential commander damage or resolving Approach of the Second Sun, giving opponents multiple turn cycles to find sweepers or edict effects.
