Deck overview

This deck is a competitive Gruul Stax and Combo list commanded by Tovolar, Dire Overlord. It pairs an aggressive, low-curve Werewolf and Wolf tribal base with a compact Goblin combo finish using Conspicuous Snoop and Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker. In the early turns, explosive 0-1 CMC mana acceleration deploys asymmetric stax pieces such as Collector Ouphe, Null Rod, and Magus of the Moon. These hate pieces cripple artifact-centric and multicolor combo strategies across the table. Meanwhile, Tovolar breaks parity by converting early creature combat into substantial card advantage. The deck leverages 11 creature tutors to quickly find Goblin Recruiter, which sets up an immediate Turn 3 win by stacking Snoop and Kiki-Jiki to swing with infinite hasty 2/2 tokens. Dense zero-mana interaction like Deflecting Swat, Force of Vigor, Endurance, and Veil of Summer shields the win and disrupts opposing attempts.
